Defining Workflow Boundaries

Set the geographic area to be monitored by the workflow. This should align with the appropriate area of relevance for the policy being implemented in the workflow.

Instructions:

  1. An existing boundary can be chosen from the list of previously-defined boundaries which populate automatically on the “Select Area” screen, if desired. 

    Or:

  2. Click New Area at the top of the list of boundaries to create a new boundary for the workflow. Available options for a new boundary are:
    • Upload a file: Click Upload Area at the top of the screen to open the file uploader and upload a local geospatial boundary file in GeoJSON or zipped Shapefile format. The maximum file size is 50 MB, and files must be in the EPSG 4326 (WGS84) coordinate system.
    • Build a new boundary: Choose between the following options in-app. For any option, enter an area name and select a Location Area Group to categorize it.
        • Route: Build a route on the road network using a Shortest Path algorithm. Up to 25 waypoints may be selected.
        • Point Buffer: Create a distance- or time-based buffer around an origin point selected on the map or entered as a street address.
        • Polygon: Draw a polygon on the map.
    • Click Create
  3. Click Next
Outcome: The user moves on to the workflow criteria screen.
