A summary of the Census Employment Data specification.
1.0 Introduction
Employment datasets are reported once per year by the United States Census. The data reflect the number of people employed who are 16 years old. The data sets range from 2015 - to 2020 and have been aggregated to census tracts.
The Census Bureau surveys measure the state of the nation's workforce.

2.0 Data Specification

π‘Tip: The βGEO.IDβ field contains 14-digit codes that identify the summary level of data, the geographic component of the data, and FIPS codes that uniquely identify the data. For example, the 14-digit βGEO.IDβ for Harris County, TX is β0500000US48201β where β050β represents the summary level of the data, β0000β represents the 2-digit geographic variant, and the 2-digit geographic component, βUSβ represents the United States, β48β represents the state of Texas and β201β represents Harris County.
