A summary of Road Class filters that can be applied within Insights.
1.0 Introduction
Insights offers the ability to filter map and analytic data by road functional class. You have the ability to select one or more functional classes to help narrow your analysis the relevant roads. The map's appearance will be limited to the road classes selected. The analytics panel will not change.
2.0 Location Filters
Insights will default to having Class 1-5 selected by default but has the option to turn off road segments by Road Class in the filter settings.
⚠️NOTE: Turning on Class 5 roads will result in significantly longer load times between layers at the County level because there is much more data being loaded when switching between layers. We estimate for the largest counties it can take 1-2 mins in wait time to switch layers or apply filters. Once a layer is loaded, there is no lag, however, when zooming, panning, and reviewing data in the active layer.
3.0 Applying Filters
The method for applying filters within Insights is universal and follows these steps:
Step 1 - Make changes to filters
You can adjust any filters you want without affecting the map.
Step 2 - Press "Apply Filter" button
To apply a filter, you must press the blue button at the bottom of the filter panel that says "Apply Filter" for your changes to take effect.
